LINE: Wisconsin -4.5, o/u: 53.5
ATS PICK: Wisconsin
You’re taking a wee bit of a risk here, but it’ll be worth it.
The line should be Wisconsin at at least 7.5, but Northwestern is Northwestern, and it has a way of showing up and doing strange things like push Michigan hard. It also has a way of almost getting rolled by Nebraska, before the Huskers melted down.
With news that Badger QB Alex Hornibrook was going through the concussion protocol an was iffy, the line dropped to around four, the world jumped all over it and it went up to 5.5 in some places.
Even if Hornibrook doesn’t play, the Wisconsin running game should be able to control this from the start, and the defense – even with the banged up secondary – should be able to handle the one-dimensional Cats.
Northwestern has won three straight, but it was awful against Rutgers last week, and again, it needed a minor miracle to get by Nebraska. So far, though, only Duke has been able to be the Cats by more than five.
This is just the third Badger road game, it held its own against Iowa, and it should be able to rumble to a rough, tough game – the 4.5 shouldn’t be an issue.
