LINE: Coastal Carolina -3.5, o/u: 59
POINT TOTAL PICK: Under
Again, it’s never okay to make a pick out of spite.
Last week, the sure-thing, no-brainer, obvious win total pick of the week was Coastal Carolina vs. UMass.
The Minutemen don’t have a defense, they were getting rocked for weeks, and the Chanticleers – who haven’t been playing a lot of D, either – were about to keep things moving in a shootout. Considering UMass allowed over 50 points per game on a regular basis, going over the 71.5 was …
Wrong. Coastal Carolina won 24-13.
So very, very wrong.
But it showed that Coastal Carolina games just don’t get too far out of hand. The defense hasn’t been anything special, but the offense only manages about 20ish points per game on a regular basis.
Enter Georgia State.
The Panthers got into a bit of a shootout against Arkansas State a few weeks ago, and they hung up 46 on ULM, but even so, their games have only gone over the 59 point mark three times, and one of this was a 60-point game.
So far this season, Georgia State has only scored more than 24 points twice, and Coastal Carolina has only been over 24 points three times, and one of those was a 30-28 game.
Again, under 59.
So come on, Coastal Carolina. After last week, you owe us. Go low.
