San Diego State (3-1) vs. Boise State (3-1) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
It’s not the Mountain West championship, but it might be a preview if San Diego State can get past Fresno State.
The Aztecs were able to get by Arizona State and Eastern Michigan in big fights, but it’s been tough to get the offense going, especially without top running back Juwan Washington.
Meanwhile, Boise State overcame the blowout loss at Oklahoma State to drill Wyoming with a 34-14 win to take control of the Mountain Division.
The offense is moving the chains, it’s not turning the ball over, and it’s been able to obliterate teams with its great passing game. With a fearsome pass rush and the league’s second-best D so far behind Fresno State, it’s all there.
The Broncos can stop the run. Without Washington, the Aztecs might keep on pounding away, but it’s not an explosive attack. The defense is still great – it’s incredible against the run – but if Boise State gets up early, it’s over.
Brett Rypien continues to be among the nation’s most under appreciated passers. He has hit the 300-yard mark in each of the our games, is bombing away deep, and he has yet to throw a pick.
The San Diego State defense will show up and make this a game, but the offense won’t be there to keep up after the Broncos get up early.
