What’s Going To Happen

Dreadfully sorry for this …

Halloween might be the night before, if you want something truly ghoulish and scary, this game is going to be it.

Again, sorry.

Yeah, Northern Illinois beat BYU, but it did it with just 204 yards of total offense in a 7-6 win in Provo.

The Huskies committed too many penalties – ten for 80 yards – and had no ground game whatsoever. But they won, and now they’re on a four-game roll as they sit atop the MAC West standings.

Akron is all but dead in the East, but it’s got a strong defensive front that can get into the backfield, and it’s getting the job done lately in tight games, winning two straight to keep bowl hopes alive.

But there’s no Zip offense.

Generating points is like pulling teeth for the nation’s 123rd-ranked offense. However, like NIU, they’re amazing at finding ways to stay in games and win ugly.

The Huskies have even more issues scoring and moving the offense, but the defensive front is a force in the backfield, and the D is a machine at taking the ball away.

Being on the road won’t be a problem for NIU, as it grinds out yet another close win after going +2 in the turnover battle.
