What’s Going To Happen
If you’re Hawaii, you want to put this to bed now.
The Rainbow Warriors already have six wins, but they need a seventh to be assured of a bowl game – they play a 13-game schedule. With Fresno State, Utah State and San Diego State still to go, lose, and it might come down to a home game against UNLV to get that swag bag.
They got flattened by BYU on the road last week, but the team has found ways to win against an interesting schedule. Now the job will be to keep pace with the Nevada offense that has hit a bit of a snag.
The Wolf Pack threw for over 300 yards in the loss to Boise State a week after doing nothing in a 21-3 loss to Fresno State. Losers of three of their last four, this is when they have to get the bowl dream back on track, and it starts by forcing turnovers again.
They’re great at coming up with a whole slew of plays behind the line, and they’ve come up with 14 takeaways on the year, but can the secondary that’s been hammered time and again hold up?
At home, Cole McDonald and the ultra-efficient passing game will hit the 300-yard mark again in what should be a fun, late night shootout. Both air shows will bomb away, but at home, the Rainbow Warriors will be a wee bit sharper and a bit more efficient.
This might be a game when the last team that has the ball wins.
