Louisiana (1-3) vs. Texas State (1-3) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Both teams desperately need this. Louisiana is in the midst of a disappointing first season under new head coach Billy Napier, but two of the blowout losses in the three-game losing streak came against Mississippi State and Alabama on the road.
Are the Ragin’ Cajuns good, but just so happened to lose in a fight to a solid Coastal Carolina and to two SEC teams on the road? This is the game to find out.
Texas State can’t get going. It put up a good fight in a loss to UTSA, but it was a loss coming off a ten-point defeat to South Alabama.
Neither team has yet to beat an FBS team, but even on the road, expect Louisiana to get the running game going – it hasn’t been bad so far – and watch out for a good overall performance against a rough defensive day from the Bobcats. They don’t get into the backfield easily enough, and on the other side, they won’t be able to keep the chains moving.
TXST is dead last in the nation in third down conversions, Louisiana is 126th in third down defense. The two will meet somewhere in between, but overall, this will be when the Ragin’ Cajuns start to look the part under Napier.
