Louisiana (3-3) vs. Appalachian State (4-1) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
It’s all working for the Mountaineers.
They’re coming off a blowout at Arkansas State on national TV, the defense has been unbelievable, and they’re starting to look more and more like a true contender for the Group of Five’s New Year’s Six slot.
They might not have star running back Jalin Moore, but there are plenty of backs ready to fill in, QB Zac Thomas has been fantastic, and again … the defense. It’s been suffocating.
Can the Ragin’ Cajun offense keep it all going now that it’s facing a real defense?
Andre Nunez is coming off a five touchdown pass game against New Mexico State, leading an attack that’s put up 108 points over the last two wins. But ASU is a machine right now.
It’s doing everything right, including dominating on the ground, generating a pass rush, and controlling the clock when needed.
The ULL attack won’t be shut down to a dead stop. But with a defense that doesn’t take the ball away enough, and can’t come up with any key third down stops, it’s going to be a long day against the Sun Belt’s best and most complete team.
