Louisiana Tech (3-2) vs. UTSA (3-3) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Just how for real is this UTSA run?
It lost the games it was supposed to over the first three games, and won the games it was supposed to against the bad Texas teams on the slate. Now the real work begins for a team with a middling offense that’s doing just enough to help out the solid defense.
There’s absolutely no downfield passing game, and the offense is dead last in the nation in yards, but the defense is amazing at getting behind the line, and it’s even better at taking the ball away.
Louisiana Tech is coming of a dud of a 28-7 loss to UAB, but it stunned North Texas the week before on the road.
The offense hasn’t shown up yet – it’s not going to hang 50 on the board to put this out of reach for the UTSA offense to try keeping up.
The Bulldogs can’t pass protect and they don’t run all that well, but they can bring the defensive heat when they have to.
Expect a defensive fight with points coming at a premium. UTSA will stay in it for four quarters, but it won’t have the passing game to come back after the Bulldogs take over with ten minutes to go.
