Louisiana Tech (5-2) vs. Florida Atlantic (3-4) Game Preview

Free daily ATS lock pick just released: ‘100% confidence release!’

What’s Going To Happen

After getting walloped by Marshall last week 31-7, Florida Atlantic’s shot at repeating as Conference USA champs took a potential fatal blow. But for now, just getting bowling would be nice, seeing three wins out of the final five to do it. Lose this, and the Owls are in big, big, big trouble to get a swag bag.

The rushing attack is still good, but the defense isn’t doing its part. It’s getting ripped to shred by anyone who can consistently throw a forward pass.

Enter Louisiana Tech, who might not be bombing away like the Skip Holtz teams of the past, but it’s coming up with wins with a balance attack and points and plays when it has to have them.

And mostly, it’s the D that’s getting it done, allowing 131 rushing yards or fewer in three of the last four games and four times overall on the season.

Louisiana Tech beat South Alabama early in the season after allowing 217 yards, but that was a grind of a win. It lost to LSU and UAB after giving up two bills – the only two losses of the season.

Running well doesn’t guarantee anything for the Owls, but it’s a must to at least get into the discussion.

QB Chris Robison is expected to play after hurting his ankle against Marshall, but this is mostly about the defensive side – it’s just not stopping anyone.

The FAU O and Devin Singletary will crank up the yards, but Louisiana Tech will get them back just as fast.

J’Mar Smith will throw for 300 yards, the Bulldog D will come up with the stops in the second half to take over the game, and Louisiana Tech will stay deep in the hunt for the West title.
