Liberty (2-2) vs. New Mexico State (1-4) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
It’s the matchup so nice they’re going to play it twice.
These two are playing in Albuquerque this week, and then at Liberty in late November as they try to piece together their schedules as independents.
Liberty has been fun since moving up to the FBS world. Turner Gill’s club has an offense that’s throwing the ball well – it just hit New Mexico for 472 yards – but the defense has been a rumor at times.
New Mexico State lost to New Mexico, but it was able to come up with its first win of the season with a road win over UTEP. The offense hasn’t found the passing fun it enjoyed last year, and there’s no run defense.
Last in the nation in time of possession and with one of the nation’s worst offenses, the Aggies aren’t playing well. They’re about to get bombed on by Steven Calvert and company, coming off a 417-yard passing day last week against the Lobos.
He’ll get plenty of time to work, and the Flame defense that’s been under siege all season long will get a bit of a break.
