Tulsa (1-3) vs. Houston (3-1) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
It’s the American Athletic Conference opener for Houston, and it’s a chance for the world to see future NFL star DT Ed Oliver blow up the Tulsa offense.
The Golden Hurricane were supposed to be stronger after a down 2017, but the O has yet to score more than 21 points against an FBS team, mainly because the offensive line stinks in pass protection and the attack turns it over more than almost everyone in college football.
Struggling Tulsa O line, meet Mr. Oliver.
But the Golden Hurricane can run a little bit, with Shamari Brooks a good veteran who can be a bit of a workhorse, even if he’s not ripping off a slew of big runs. The problem is a Houston run defense that’s allowing just 114 yards per game.
With two weeks off after hanging 70 on Texas Southern, and with 45 points or more in all four games this season, the Cougars have the offensive fun show to see, starting with QB D’Eriq King, who has thrown 15 touchdown passes so far.
He and the Cougar offense will set the pace early, and Oliver and the D will keep Tulsa from keeping up.
