The Army option is too good and too sharp at the moment. Miami University might have a decent enough defense to keep this from getting out of hand, but on the road, it’s not going to happen. Army will hold the ball for what seems like 59 minutes.

Which Toledo will show up? Will the offense finally start to kick it in against Buffalo, or will it still fizzle? Does the defense have anything it can do to stop the Bull balance? If this isn’t a rip-roaring shootout, the Rockets don’t have a chance. UB is better, and it’s only giving up a point.

Can Carl Pelini give Bowling Green any semblance of a defense? Not enough right away. It’s one of the stunners of the MAC season – Ohio doesn’t have a defense – and that should mean the Falcons keep it closer than the 16.5 in a while shootout.

It’s a tired line now, but it’s true. If it’s Eastern Michigan, it’s going to be a close game that’s being decided by less than seven points. Ball State might be at home, and it might have the offensive backfield, but EMU is better. Like the Eagles, hate that they’re giving up three points.

Don’t care that it’s a rivalry game. Don’t care that Central Michigan is at home and desperate. Don’t care that Western Michigan is giving up 3.5 points. The Broncos are far, far better, and if they play to 84% to their capabilities, they win easily. They’ll play 83%.

The “… and death is not an option” game: Akron at Kent State. The Zips aren’t playing well enough to be giving away five points to anyone, but even so, they should be a touchdown better than the Golden Flashes if the defense has a decent day. Kent State’s lines are just too awful.
