Five Biggest Upset Alerts: Week 8

1. Michigan at Michigan State

LINE: Michigan -7.5, o/u: 41

Full disclosure: I picked Michigan to win.

More disclosure: I totally whiffed on the Wisconsin pick to at least cover against Michigan last week, thinking that it was crazy to ever go against the Badgers by double digits.

But it’s Michigan vs. Michigan State. This always seems to defy all logic and reason.

Really, though. Why is this here? Because Michigan is better than Michigan State in every area except weirdness.

Whether it was the 2015 blocked punt for a score, or last year’s loss after the game was effectively over at halftime, with Michigan State up before the rain kicked in, MSU needs a gift from the gods to win this.

And welcome to the weather in the greater East Lansing metropolitan area.

Of course it’s supposed to be sunny and beautiful in the morning.

Of course it’s supposed to be lovely in the late afternoon through Sunday with a few lingering clouds.

During the game tomorrow?

Of course it’s supposed to ran with a 17 mph hour win just to throw a wrench into the system. Ask 2017 Michigan how well Mark Dantonio coaches and MSU plays in bad weather.

Never ignore your first answer, so I’m still going with the Wolverines. But when it comes to the likely big-name upsets of the day, this would hardly be a shocker.
