LINE: Penn State -6, o/u: 51.5
Iowa is playing well. Penn State isn’t.
The Nittany Lions struggled on the road to put away Indiana, lost at home to Michigan State, and hasn’t beaten anyone else of note other than surviving Appalachian State in overtime.
Iowa’s defense has been terrific over the last few weeks – the Hawkeyes blew out Indiana in Bloomington – and the offense has been outstanding.
The Hawkeye lines are playing as well as any in the conference right now, and Nate Stanley has found a groove for an offense that finally has a downfield passing game.
Granted, this is still an explosive Nittany Lion team playing at home. If Trace McSorley finds a groove early on and puts the pressure on the Hawkeye secondary, this could get into a fun shootout.
But at the moment, the better and more motivated team – the one-loss Hawkeyes are still in the hunt for a whole slew of big things – is getting almost a touchdown.
