What’s Going To Happen
Just when it seemed like Tulane was on the way to a dead season – starting out 1-3 with an inconsistent attack – it pulled off a stunner of a Thursday night win with a 40-24 win over Memphis.
And now, the Green Wave are 1-0 with a shot to make some big noise with SMU and Tulsa up next. Beat Cincinnati, and the season takes a true shift.
The Bearcats have quietly gone unbeaten with the season-opening win over UCLA to kick things off and a strong victory over Ohio on the resume. With road games at Temple and SMU to follow, and Navy, USF and UCF after there, this can’t be a miss.
Luke Fickell’s team hasn’t been a rock against the run, but it’s got the ability to get behind the line and blow up plays before they get started, and that’s everything against Tulane.
Against Memphis, the Green Wave attack hummed like it’s supposed to with 318 yards and four scores on the ground.
As a program, Tulane has gone 7-0 over the last seven games hitting the 250-yard mark. Over the last two seasons, it’s 1-11 when not getting to 250, and it’s not going to against the Bearcat defensive front.
It’ll be a solid, workmanlike effort for the Bearcats. They’ll be in control throughout.
