Buffalo (6-1) vs. Toledo (3-3) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
There’s a shot this might be a preview of the MAC Championship, but that probably doesn’t happen it Toledo loses.
The Rockets have had major problems against the decent quarterbacks lately, partly because there’s not enough of a steady pass rush, and partly because the secondary just isn’t all that great.
The other problem is the offense. It puts up big enough numbers to make others bomb away.
The receivers are in place to bomb away, and QB Mitchell Guadagni is back, but they’re going to need to be in sync to keep up if Buffalo gets hot right away.
Tyree Jackson hasn’t been bombing away as expected lately, but that’s partly because the offense has been balanced enough to let others handle the work. UB has picked a nice time to come up with its two biggest running games of the year, and it’ll keep it going by hitting Toledo with over 200 yards this week.
And Jackson will be good, too.
It might be a road appearance, but this will be the Bulls’ game. So far this season, only Eastern Michigan and Army – the Knights threw just five times – have hit more than half of their passes, and Toledo won’t go off, either.
This will hardly cement anything for a Buffalo team that has work still to do in the East, but with a sharp game from both sides, it’ll go a long way to proving it’s the MAC’s best team.
