This is all just for spits, giggles, and entertainment purposes only. However, just in case you dabble …

In case you haven’t noticed, Iowa’s Nate Stanley has been the second-best quarterback in the Big Ten over the past few weeks. It’s taken a few years, but finally, the Hawkeye passing game is starting to blow up.

It’s this simple. Maryland can’t throw, it has to run to win, and Iowa’s run defense is fantastic. The Terps have a way of rising up and rocking out of the blue, but give away the ten. Iowa doesn’t need them. It’ll be windy, and the conditions a bit off, but the Hawkeyes will be fine.

By the way, you didn’t ask, but the Hawkeyes are going to win the Big Ten West.

Is Wisconsin that bad, is Michigan that good, or is it a little bit of both? The problem with these Badgers is that they appear to be on way too even a plain. That’s fine to stay the course and not get too high or low, but they had better come out and rip this bad Illinois team to shreds.

It sort of will, but I don’t trust them enough to give away 24.5 at the moment. Stay away from this game, but if you have to, assume the Illini play a little bit better than they did last week – and still lose by three touchdowns.

I can’t shake my original preseason belief that Rutgers is going to be okay. It’s not, though. It’s not going to win another game, and it’s going to keep on losing in brutal fashion. It can’t throw at all. Really. But Northwestern can’t run a lick.

The line went down from NU -20.5 to 20, but still go with the Scarlet Knights at home to handle the number. But again, I have a weird Rutgers thing still happening – so adjust the line accordingly.

I’ve warned you before that I haven’t been able to see the Indiana pitch all year. It’s at home, and Penn State is reeling and might just be as overrated and overblown as many were hinting, but I’m still in. The Nittany Lions aren’t going to clunk two games in a row.

Of course you despise giving away 15.5 points in an October conference came on the road – always be skeptical of the double digit home dog. You’ll be okay here, though.

Nebraska fans, the brutally weird meltdown in Evanston will only make this week that much sweeter. What no one told you is that your Huskers wanted that first win under Scott Frost to be at home. For you. Isn’t that nice?

Minnesota is in a bad place right now – and I don’t mean Minneapolis. (Actually, I sort of do – it’s about to be -19 there in about ten minutes.)  It can’t run, isn’t good enough to win through the air, and it’s about to get hit hard by a frothing-at-the-mouth Husker team. Giving away the four is just being polite.

Apparently, I’m not alone in being really, really scared of Purdue right now. It’s a home game, the offense is going off, Ohio State hasn’t exactly been air tight for a full sixty minutes, Brohm is overdue for a massive win, and Urban Meyer seems sort of tired. That’s all why the line has gone down to Buckeyes -12.5.

There’s a large part of me that’s thinking too hard about the free throw. Of course Ohio State will wake up in time to win in a blowout. I liked Purdue and the points at 13.5, now I like Ohio State at 12.5. I’m quibbling – head is saying Boiler Up and the points, but if I HAVE to … Buckeyes.

Enough of all of this mystical stuff. Michigan State just isn’t that good, and Michigan is. The Wolverines are better than the Spartans in every area except coaching in the last three minutes in this series in a tight game, especially if there’s something quirky going on … like the weather the took over last year’s game.

The wind should be kicking in at around 19 mph with the possibility of rain. And that’s why the total dropped like a rock to just 41. Michigan State really, really can’t run, and Michigan can. The Spartan run D numbers were inflated – it didn’t face anyone who could run until Penn State, and it took off for 205 yards.

It’s okay to be scared in a game that should be played in the teens, but … Michigan. By more than a touchdown. But barely.
