This is all just for spits, giggles, and entertainment purposes only. However, just in case you dabble …

Sometimes, you just stay away. Not every pick is there for the taking, and you’re sort of throwing something at the wall and seeing if it’ll stick. The first answer to Texas Tech vs. Iowa State was the Cyclones by four, but that was when the line was ISU by 3.5. Now the line is back up to 5.5, where it originally opened.

Watch, it’s going to be a 30 point blowout one way or the other, but love Texas Tech if the line is around 3ish, not interested at 5ish.

Yeah, TCU is sort of a hot mess at the moment, and yeah, the offense wasn’t scoring before when it had its starting quarterback. Yeah, there are a whole lot of reasons to say away from a 13.5 point spread on the road, considering the offense is having a hard time scoring 14 points, but Kansas appears to be back to being Kansas.

You’re asking TCU to beat one of the worst teams in college football by two touchdowns. That’s not looking for anything wacky, but still, tread lightly.
TCU at Kansas Game Preview & Prediction

I’m well aware that I have a total blind spot when it comes to Kansas State. Late in the season, I sort of believe the Wildcat machine just sort of works. Grind down tired teams, own the clock, keep the chains moving … that doesn’t fly against Oklahoma.

Very, very, very sheepishly liking Kansas State to keep this from getting brutally ugly, but to the Sooners, getting past 24.5 isn’t asking for the world.

Still … that Kansas State blind spot, plus the close games against Texas and Baylor, plus the blowout over Oklahoma State, plus the two weeks of rest.
Kansas State at Oklahoma Game Preview & Prediction

There’s absolutely no sane or rational reason to think Oklahoma State has a shot against Texas. The Longhorns are far more physical, they’ve had two weeks off to gear it up, they have the right style of play to handle the road test, and Oklahoma State is coming off a run of three losses in four games, with the only win coming against Kansas.

Oklahoma State is going to pull off the upset.

Every once in a while under Mike Gundy, the Cowboys – when they’re not amazing, like last year’s team – show up and do something shockingly good. It did that early on in the blowout over Boise State. The 2014 team went on a run of five straight losses before beating Oklahoma. The 2011 team lost to an okay Iowa State, and then whacked the Sooners a week later.

Gundy has won three straight against Texas. It would be nice if the Longhorns were giving away more points, but you don’t need them, anyway.
