What happened and what mattered in the Week 6 of the Big 12 college football season?
4. Baylor 37, Kansas State 34
Kansas State started to look okay.
It was getting a few fo the breaks it needed, Alex Barnes went off for 250 rushing yards and three touchdowns, and the offense exploded in a huge fourth quarter …
And then Connor Martin hit a field goal to give Baylor the win.
It wasn’t all fun for Martin – he missed an extra point and whiffed on three field goals, but he made amends in the final seconds to close out a massive offensive performance from the Bears.
Charlie Brewer threw for 296 yards, Trestan Ebner ran for 100 yards, and Tennessee transfer Jalen Hurd caught 11 passes for 135 yards as BU cranked up 557 yards. But Kansas State hung around.
The Wildcats third it over three times and had the ball for almost nine fewer minutes, but even though they had a whole slew of issues, they were right there.
But in what probably amounted to a bowl elimination game, Baylor moves on, and Kansas State needs a minor miracle.
