What’s Going To Happen
It’s do-or-die time on Halloween night for a Ball State team that’s lost three of its last four games and six games overall. Lose this, and that’s it for the bowl hopes.
The Cardinals have an offense, they can move the chains, and they have some nice skill talents, but the passing game isn’t efficient enough or good enough to keep up if Toledo gets rolling.
The Rockets have been maddening.
Quarterback injury issues have been a part of the problem, but just when it seems like they should be out of it, they roll to a 51-24 win at Western Michigan to dive right back in the MAC title chase. Win this, and with a show down at Northern Illinois to follow, they can make this interesting.
The Rockets can score in bunches, but they need QB Mitchell Guadagni to be relatively sharp. He’s been banged up and not himself over the last month, but he got the job done against WMU, and freshman RB Bryant Koback has been able to take over as a key part of the puzzle.
The backfield, and the defensive front, should be enough to get by a Cardinal team that’s allowed 94 points over the last two weeks.
The Rocket running game will roll.
