Arizona (3-3) vs. Utah (3-2) Game Preview
One Reason Why Arizona Will Win
Arizona has to start generating more pressure, and it has to force a whole slew of fumbles.
And it can’t start giving the ball away like Stanford did last week against the Ute D.
Utah has had been stingy with giveaways over the last two games, but it turned the ball over nine times in the first three games – seven of them fumbles. Arizona’s defense has worked the opposite way. It only came up with one takeaway over the first four games, and then everything flipped with seven takeaways in the last two outings against USC and Cal.
This is when the Arizona pass rush has to show up. It’s been spotty all season long, but last week Tyler Huntley got way too long to work and was way too sharp. The Cats have to keep him in the pocket and not let him get into any sort of a rhythm.
One Reason Why Utah Will Win
The running game is rolling.
USC was able to rumble on Arizona two weeks ago, and Cal ran for two scores last week. The Wildcats have allowed two or more rushing touchdowns against everyone but Oregon State, and now they have to face a Utah ground attack that ran for 426 yards and five touchdowns over the last two weeks.
And Huntley has been on his game, too.
He might not be bombing away, and he isn’t throwing touchdown passes, but he connected on 17-of-21 throws against Stanford last week, keeping the Ute offense in command of the game throughout.
Arizona might have the weapons, but they’re not producing. The ground attack has fallen flat again after the big performance against Oregon State, and Khalil Tate continues to be underwhelming through the air.
With the Pac-12’s No. 1 defense, Utah isn’t about to get blown up at home by the inconsistent offense.

What’s Going To Happen
Fresh off the great road win at Stanford, Utah will shine at home with the national spotlight on. The offense might not be spectacular, but it’ll keep the chains moving,
Arizona isn’t going to generate enough defensive pressure, and even though this is supposed to be a showcase for the Arizona big-name quarterback, Huntley will outplay Tate.
