Akron (2-2) vs. Buffalo (5-1) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Buffalo might have been blown out by Army a few weeks ago, but it’s still 2-0 in the MAC and has a chance to take a big step forward in the East race.
And it might be able to all but knock out the defending division champs.
Akron might have been able to pull off a massive comeback to beat Northwestern, but the offense has fallen flat over the last two weeks in two straight losses.
The Zips just don’t move the chains. Against this Buffalo offense, the points have to start coming in a hurry.
The UB offensive line has been outstanding at keeping QB Tyree Jackson upright, allowing just one sack so far. However, the big man hasn’t been all that sharp, completing fewer than half of his passes over the last three games.
Fortunately for UB, Kevin Marks and the ground game are picking up the slack – the freshman hit Central Michigan for 167 yards last week.
The Zip defensive front doesn’t generate any pressure, but it should be able to keep the game close in a good fight.
But the Zip offense simply won’t be able to move the chains.
