This is all just for spits, giggles, and entertainment purposes only. However, just in case you dabble …

You know the tired and wrong adage that if you have two starting quarterbacks, you’ve got none? Yeah … Miami has none.

I’m well aware that good teams bounce back quickly from massive disappointments – West Virginia just scored again – but Boston College does a whole lot of the same things the Canes do, but it has a quarterback, and AJ Dillon is returning. It would be nice to get more than 3.5 at home, but on a night when the whole city will be watching the World Series, BC will will be great.

By the way, the total dropped like a rock from 58.5 to a far more manageable 50.5. With these two defenses, though, stay away.

Also, tomorrow night, it’s going to be around 40 degrees in Boston. Miami players will have to adjust. Fast.

Gritting teeth … trust in the Florida State defense. The Nole running game won’t go anywhere against Clemson, but the O will do just enough to score a few points. That might be enough to cover the 17 – it went up big after opening at Clemson -14.

No argument if you think the Tigers are going to win in a walk – they’ve flipped the switch – but … this could turn into a low scoring fight. Again, be careful – the Nole defensive front is feeling disrespected.

And the Death Is Not An Option game of the week, maybe Wake Forest and Louisville might be equally bad enough to each crank up some big numbers and make it an offensive firefight. This is a dead even suckfest, but the home team is only giving away 2.5. If you need to so somewhere with this, the Cardinals are a bit overdue for a decent performance.

I know, I know, you can’t force an upset to happen, but North Carolina has been really, really close to breaking through and being okay.

This game at Virginia goes one of two ways. Either the Tar Heels score early and it’s over – the Cavaliers can’t/won’t come back – or the Virginia defense rises up, rocks, and this is a low scoring fight. Either way, giving away nine to a Tar Heel O that’s playing this well is silly.

At some point, Pitt is going to go Pitt. It’s had time off, it gets Duke at home, and the Blue Devil magic that kicked in early on appears to be wearing away. The line hasn’t budged from Duke -2.5 all week long, and no one is offering anything different – at least at the moment. You’d like it a bit higher, but at home, Pitt is due to win a decent game.

Also, that total of 45.5 is scary-low. Just stay away from it altogether, but if you have to, go over.

Very, very, very nervous that I’m all over the underdogs and upsets this week in the ACC, especially considering I picked Virginia Tech to beat Georgia Tech. But I’m sticking with my first answers.

NC State is only giving away two to Syracuse. It’s going to be a shootout, and at home, the Orange should be able to get to Ryan Finley enough to pull this off. The State -2 is irrelevant – it’s essentially a PICK game. I wish the Orange were getting around five or so, but if two is it, two is it.
