It always seems like the better, stronger team wins with ease on these Friday night games, and Memphis is the better, stronger team than Tulane. It’s the more complete team, but Tulane is at home, and it’s desperate. The 14 given up to the Green Wave is a bit too large.
– Memphis vs. Tulane Game Preview & Prediction
There’s absolutely no argument if you like Army over Buffalo straight up. After all, this Knight formula was almost good enough to get by Oklahoma, and when the ground game is working and controlling the action, forget it. But Tyree Jackson and UB will control the clock, too. Sometimes, not being fast-paced helps. That 7.5 seems like a lot, so again, not arguing, but …

At some point, the UCLA switch is going to flip. The lines are awful, there’s no run D, and the there’s no ground attack, but there’s going to be that moment when it all clicks. There’s too much talent in place and Chip Kelly is way too good for this to continue to be such a disaster. But not this week. Colorado and Steven Montez roll at home in a much, much lower-scoring game than the 58 total.

Sometimes, it’s just this easy. Cincinnati is playing well and is good at this college football thing, and UConn isn’t playing well and isn’t good at this college football thing. It’s on the road, but take the Bearcats, take the points, take what’s being handed to you.
– Cincinnati vs. UConn Game Preview & Prediction
The moment Michigan State stops being so boring and underwhelming is the time to start jumping on its coattails as a big favorite. Last week against Indiana was an easy MSU ATS pick, but even though Central Michigan is miserable, go with Michigan State being Michigan State and not cranking this up by more than four touchdowns.

Northern Illinois just isn’t very good at much of anything offensively. That Eastern Michigan is only giving up three at home against the mediocre Huskies is a gift. Like my kid’s date on Homecoming Night, NIU isn’t going to score – at least it had better not. The Huskies are dead last in college football in total offense.
I think I like Kent State more than I’m supposed to. The Ball State home loss to Western Kentucky was concerning, and there’s no getting mad at the Golden Flashes for struggling offensively against Penn State and Ole Miss. This is the first FBS game this season against a Group of Five team for KSU. Ball State should be better at home, but – and I hate this – hedge a bit and go with Kent State plus the seven. At the very least, it should be close, if the Golden Flashes don’t win outright.
It’s a knee-jerk reaction – whatever the spread, go against the bad Conference USA teams. And then Old Dominion whacks Virginia Tech. Don’t be deterred – Rice is bad. Wake Forest has a way of making games weird sometimes, but even with the line rising, it’ll cover it.
– Rice vs. Wake Forest Game Preview & Prediction
Oh GREAT. Do you want to try figuring out these two wack-job teams? Old Dominion can throw now? East Carolina is two weeks removed from dominating North Carolina? Yeah, the Blake LaRussa express is still rolling for the Monarchs, but East Carolina just pushed USF, and that ODU magic isn’t going to continue. It hurts to like the Pirates as more than a touchdown favorite, but …

Georgia Tech is way, way, way, way overdue to open up a can of something on someone. This isn’t a great Yellow Jacket team, but Bowling Green’s run defense is dead last in college football, and … don’t overthink this. The Falcons were destroyed by more than 28.5 against the other two FBS teams on the slate, Oregon and Maryland.
– Bowling Green vs. Georgia Tech Game Preview & Prediction
Temple is growing into a scary ATS team. That Maryland blowout a few weeks ago came from out of nowhere, and then last week it had no problems against Tulsa. The world quickly figures that out, though – the line against Boston College has gone from 14.5 down to 12.5. The Owls should keep this from getting out of hand.
– Temple vs. Boston College Game Preview & Prediction
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Clemson is coming off blowout wins over Georgia Southern and Georgia Tech, and there’s a revenge factor here, but Syracuse really is good. The line shot up fast from 21 to 25.5, and to go Kirk Cousins, you like that. Take the risk that the Orange are just good enough defensively to keep this from getting out of hand – especially with two picks of Mr. Lawrence coming.
