Washington (0-1) vs. North Dakota (1-0) Game Preview
One Reason Why North Dakota Will Win
North Dakota pushed Bowling Green last year and rolled by Mississippi Valley State to get to start this season with a balanced, effective offense that can do a little bit of everything right.
Nate Ketteringham is a solid passer, the defense is strong at getting into the backfield – holding the Delta Devils to -27 rushing yards – and it has decent depth to keep throwing at the Huskies.
One Reason Why Washington Will Win
After dealing with the Auburn defense last week, the Huskies are about to open it up to get ready for the date with Utah coming up next.
It was a disappointing game for Washington in the 21-16 loss with a whole slew of things that went the wrong way, but now the O will sharpen up.
Jake Browning struggled a bit, but he still threw for close to 300 yards – he’ll go off on the Fighting Hawk secondary, for as long as he’s in.
The defense will stuff the mediocre UND running game. If Auburn could only run for 3.3 yards per carry, there’s no chance the FCSer will do much more – this isn’t a dominant offense, even with the performance against Mississippi Valley State.
This will be a scrimmage for one of the nation’s top teams.
What’s Going To Happen
With Trey Adams out for the year, the Washington offensive line now knows it’s not getting its star left tackle back. This is the game to get the offensive line together and sharper after having a nightmare of a time with the Auburn elite defensive interior. This is where the Dawgs get their fun.
