Florida Atlantic (2-1) vs. UCF (2-0) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Awwwwwwww, yeah. Let’s go.
It’s only the second meeting between the two schools – UCF won 33-29 back in 2003 before FAU was a full-on FBS team – and now this should be a blast.
FAU bounced back from the blowout loss to Oklahoma to rip through Air Force and Bethune-Cookman, and now it gets a chance to make a whole lot of noise by handing the defending national champion its first loss since 2016.
The defense hasn’t been great, there have been too many misfires on special teams, and the punting game – because of the blocks – is the worst in the country. But Devin Singletary is back to being Devin Singletary – running for five touchdowns against Bethune-Cookman – and the passing game appears to have something in QB Brian Robison.
But UCF is rested after missing its chance to drill North Carolina last week, and the offense should be ready to keep it all going. Thanks to a great start from the line, the O hasn’t missed a beat in the coaching change, the defense has been great at taking the ball away, and it’s all working …
But the Knight haven’t played anyone.
They’ll swarm all over Singletary, and the offense will rip through the Owl secondary with first down after first down. FAU will have its moments in the second half to keep it from being a total wipeout, but the UCF machine will put this away in the first half.
