One Reason Why ULM Will Win

It might be the all-time biggest sandwich game.

ULM gets to be the peanut butter and jelly in between Texas A&M’s gut-punch loss to Clemson, and with a trip to Alabama up next. And it has just the offense to make this a blast.

Caleb Evans and the Warhawk offense are explosive and relentless, and the defense – while shaky – at least takes the ball away with five forced turnovers so far.

For all of the good things the Aggies have done so far, there hasn’t been much of a pass rush, and they have yet to come up with a takeaways.

ULM should be good for well over 400 yards, and it can bring the heat from the line with eight sacks and 13 tackles for loss, but …

One Reason Why Texas A&M Will Win

Texas A&M just faced the Clemson defensive front. The ULM D line will seem like a nice walk in the park by comparison.

Yeah, the Aggies lost, but that’s about a good a loss as it gets when it comes to confidence levels – especially at quarterback.

Jimbo Fisher has his guy now. Kellen Mond was brilliant – helped by great performances from his receivers – throwing for 430 yards and three scores, and he has yet to throw a pick.

The ULM secondary has been just a wee bit shaky – to be kind. It was hit hard by SE Louisiana for 365 yards and four scores, and Southern Miss cranked up 378 yards and two touchdowns.

The Warhawk D has come up with three picks so far, but Mond should take target practice.

What’s Going To Happen

Texas A&M will come out angry. It’ll be up fast in the first quarter with a big early lead, but it’ll let down just enough to let ULM come up with a little bit of a second half run.

There won’t be any real drama, but expect lots of passing yards and another huge day from Mond.
