3. UTEP at UTSA
LINE: UTSA -10, o/u: 44.5
ATS PICK: UTSA
It might seem like this is when UTEP will finally have an honest shot of getting its first win since the 2016 season, mainly because UTSA hasn’t done much of anything so far.
When you only beat Texas State 25-21, there’s cause for concern.
But the three losses were to Baylor, Arizona State and Kansas State , and now this is more at UTSA’s speed.
Don’t be freaked out by the close battle against the Bobcats last week. The Roadrunner defensive front is great at getting behind the line, and the offense should be able to move the ball a bit, but more than anything else …
UTEP is the gift that keeps on giving.
Last week was the first time since October 7th of last year when the Miners didn’t lose by double digits, and they still didn’t cover against New Mexico State.
Out of their last 16 games, that 15-14 close call against WKU was the only one decided by fewer than ten points.
In a week of “if it happens, it’s just that sort of a week” picks, keep on assuming UTEP will be bad, especially on the road.
