10 Best Over/Under Point Total Picks So Far: 17-13

Starting with a few that didn’t quite make the cut, but are still spicy …

Southern Miss vs. Rice 53.5 OVER
Old Dominion vs. Virginia Tech 51 OVER
TCU vs. Texas 47.5 UNDER

Click on each game for the game preview and fearless prediction.

10. Troy vs. ULM

LINE: Troy -4.5, o/u: 59

Don’t be freaked out by Troy giving up 56 to Boise State in the opener. The defense stalled Nebraska for just 19 points, and it’s good enough to keep the ULM offense from going off.

Even with all of the weapons for the Warhawks, they’ve only scored 31 points over the last two weeks with neither game against Southern Miss and Texas A&M getting to 59 points. These two will get really, really close, but won’t quite get over the hump.

9. Arizona at Oregon State

LINE: Arizona -6.5, o/u: 75.5

Neither team has shown much in the way of defensive production so far, but getting to 76 points isn’t going to be a given.

It’ll be tempting, though.

Oregon State is good for 31 points or more over each of the first three games,  but Arizona’s offense has been way too inconsistent so far.

The two attacks will put up points, but this will hang around the low 30s, not the 40s.

8. Buffalo at Rutgers

LINE: Buffalo -6, o/u: 52

You’re not asking for the world for this to get to 52.

All three Buffalo games so far have blown by the mark, and Rutgers has given up 107 points over the last two weeks. There’s a slight fear with the 35-7 Rutgers win over Texas State in the opener and the 17 points scored over the last two weeks, but … whatever.

It’s not going to crush the number, but this will end up closer to 60 than 50.

7.  Kent State at Ole Miss

LINE: Ole Miss -28.5, o/u: 74.5

Unlike the last several years, Kent State can score a little bit now.

Yeah, it only put up ten points on Penn State last week, but it should be good for at least 20 and closer to 27 against an Ole Miss defense that should let down late. The Rebels will get over the Alabama issues right away and should put up at least 45 points, but they’ll have to score 50 to get close to the massive total.

The KSU FlashFast offense will come through for you.

6. Northern Illinois at Florida State

LINE: Florida State -10, o/u: 45

You have seen the Florida State offense, right?

It had one decent run late against Samford, and that’s been it. Three points against Virginia Tech, seven against Syracuse, and 46 overall in three games.

And now you’re asking it to flip a switch and be amazing?

You have seen the Northern Illinois offense, right?

13 points total against Iowa and Utah, and a struggle against Central Michigan – it’s not going to go off on the road at FSU. With its pass rush, it’ll give the Seminole O line fits.

The 45 number is low, but all five FBS games the two have played in this year have gone under the mark.
