POINT TOTAL PICK: Under
Of course, it’s a wee bit concerning that USF and Georgia Tech couldn’t stop each other last week – the two totaled 87 points – and there’s a shot the Bulls could put up a big number on their own, but expect the defenses to play a big role in Chicago.
The game is being played in Soldier Field, and while that might not matter too much for the action, it’ll be an interesting look and feel.
And the defenses will rise up a bit. More to the point, the Illinois offense shouldn’t be there.
The first two Illini games were way under the 59-point mark, but the offense managed to score 31 and 34 points against Kent State and Western Illinois, respectively. But now, starting quarterback AJ Bush is most likely out.
The Illinois O should stay in the 20s, the USF attack isn’t going to roll into the deep 30s against this D – it’ll be tough for these two to get close to 60.
