ATS PICK: Oklahoma State
Central Michigan pulled off one of the biggest shockers of 2016 with a controversial Hail Mary play that shouldn’t have happened, beating Oklahoma State 30-27 in Stillwater.
Houston and Case Keenum stunned Oklahoma State 45-35 in Week Two of the 2009 college football season, and UCLA rolled the Cowboys in Week Three of 2002.
So it has happened. It has been possible for good teams to win at Oklahoma State in non-conference play, but it hasn’t been easy.
And Boise State has made its program’s name by showing up and winning big games on the road. Granted, it’s been years since it made the giant national splashes under Chris Petersen, but Bryan Harsin’s team rolled by Oregon in last year’s Las Vegas Bowl.
And this year’s Bronco team has been awesome, beating Troy 56-20 on the road and UConn 62-7.
But this is an Oklahoma State team that’s good enough play for the Big 12 championship, and it’s a home, and it has a rested superstar running back in Justice Hill ready to roll.
The passing game has had time to tune up, and even with Hill only getting 19 carries in the first two games, the Cowboy ground game is rocking, coming up with with close to 600 yards in two weeks.
Again, Boise State is more than good enough to win this. But all you’re asking a fantastic Power Five team to do is win at home.
