ATS PICK: Ohio State
Ohio State is just that much better.
TCU has talent, it has an amazing coach in Gary Patterson, and it’s playing the game up the road in Arlington.
But Ohio State’s talent level is ridiculous, even against TCU.
Yeah, Patterson is coaching, and Urban Meyer is still a week away from being back on the sidelines, but Meyer is coaching practices – it’s not like he’s been banished from the team. The Buckeyes will be ready.
Ohio State hasn’t shown anything so far to make it seem like it’s ready for a dud of a performance.
Oregon State and Rutgers might not be great, but those are two Power Five programs – they aren’t FCS directional school cupcakes. Ohio State’s offense ripped through both of them like they were Savannah State, and now the O leads the nation in third down conversions, is second in the nation in scoring, and Dwayne Haskins and the passing game has been ridiculously efficient.
Throw in Nick Bosa and the outstanding pass rush, nation’s No. 1 punting game, and … this has been the most complete team in college football this season, outside of Alabama.
TCU is very, very good. But last year’s team was very, very good, too, and it lost to Oklahoma and its amazing offense 41-17 in the Big 12 Championship in AT&T Stadium.
Get ready for a repeat, only with the Ohio State offense going off.
