ATS PICK: Oregon State
Yeah, it’s elitist, but you’re never crazy taking a Power Five team as an underdog against a mediocre Group of Five program.
Oregon State might still be trying to get everything in place under head coach Jonathan Smith, but Nevada isn’t Boise State quite yet in the Mountain West.
Oregon State’s defense hasn’t been anything great – getting ripped up by Ohio State won’t help the overall stats – but the running game has been outstanding. Lost in the 77-31 thumping against the Buckeyes were those 31 points – the Beaver offense actually worked a little bit against an NFL-talent loaded defense.
The Wolf Pack run defense is about to struggle, and the Air Raid offense isn’t going to hold on to the ball for all that often – Nevada will have possession for around 25 minutes.
Oregon State’s passing game has been efficient, and the 1-2 rushing punch of Jermar Jefferson and Artavis Pierce will control the game throughout.
