Pac-12 Week 4 Thoughts, Recaps, What Happened & What Mattered

2. Washington 27, Arizona State 20

Washington just isn’t going to do anything easy.

Arizona State is good. It has the talent, and as it turns out, it has the coaching.  But the Huskies did a nice job of keeping the Sun Devil passing game under wraps, and the offense closed it out, but …

It wasn’t easy.

The defense did its job. It managed to hold ASU to just 104 passing yards and locked out N’Keal Harry for just 20 yards on five catches – he needs to be targeted a whole lot more – but again, it took a whole lot of battling to get this done.

Fortunately for the Dawgs, Jake Browning had an effective game, hitting 15-of-22 passes for 202 yards and three scores, and Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed did just enough to balance things out.

At some point, the Huskies have to start putting decent teams away instantly. They need to make it easier on themselves, and they can’t take the chance that a team as good as ASU can rise back up and pull off the win.

But that’s not going to be what this season is going to be. Going forward, the Dawgs might just have to be perfect.
