Ohio (1-2) vs. UMass (2-3) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
The UMass run defense was able to hold down the Charlotte ground game last week, but it still gave up 31 points in the win. Before that, the Minutemen were ripped to shreds in three straight games on the road.
It’s been a rocky start for Ohio, but last week the running game started to work against a strong Cincinnati defense. Now it’ll be fantastic at home.
The Bobcat defense is having a nightmare of a time stopping teams on third downs – it’s last in the nation – but the UMass offense just isn’t consistent enough. The bigger problem for the Minutemen will be the defense that can’t get into the backfield.
Nathan Rourke will run well as the Bobcats dominate the time of possession battle, but the secondary will have a hard time putting the game away. Ohio will get it done, but only after a long drive in the second half, along with a key takeaway.
