New Mexico State (0-4) vs. UTEP (0-3) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Something’s got to give.
The two schools are only 45 miles apart, but they also might be the two worst football teams going right now.
New Mexico State has been abysmal in its 0-4 start. UTEP has started winless after going all of last season without a victory.
UTEP can’t get the passing game going – it’s dead last in college football in efficiency. It’s not explosive, and it’s not able to move the chains. Combine that with a porous run defense, and it’s been a bad formula.
New Mexico State simply can’t score. Even when it was able to put up some points – like it did last week in the 42-25 loss to New Mexico – the defense wasn’t able to hold up.
UTEP won’t be able to do anything through the air, and NMSU freshman Josh Adkins will be the spark that starts to get the program out of the doldrums.
