Marshall (2-1) vs. WKU (1-3) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
WKU finally got the season going with a win over Ball State to start the season, but it’s been a rough run with an 0-3 start – including a loss to Maine. But none of that matters now. It’s conference play, an this is when the Hilltopper offense has to shine.
Marshall is coming off a tough loss to NC State, and even with the two wins so far, beating Miami University and Eastern Kentucky just isn’t any big deal.
WKU doesn’t have any sort of a running game, and it’s been a problem putting points so far – averaging just 19 points per game – but the lines have been okay and the defense has been solid.
Marshall doesn’t have a ground game, and the defense hasn’t been strong enough. The passing attack will keep the pressure on, but this is when WKU starts to get the O rolling.
At home, the improving passing game will be sharp early, and then the Herd will rally back in the fourth quarter to break Hilltopper hearts on the final drive.
