LSU (1-0) vs. SE Louisiana (0-1) Game Preview
One Reason Why SE Louisiana Will Win
Is there any way possible SELA can catch LSU a bit sleepy?
The Tigers are coming off a fun, emotional win over Miami on Sunday night, and now they get a little bit of a short week to get ready for what’s supposed to be a layup.
The Lions suffered a massive disappointment in the fourth quarter in a 34-31 loss to ULM, and now they have to try cranking up the offense again to keep the pressure on the LSU secondary.
Of course, the Tiger defensive backs are amazing, but Fresno State transfer Chason Virgil showed he could play, bombing away on the Warhawks for 358 yards and four scores. He’s going to start throwing from the moment the offense gets out of the locker room.
With a trip to Auburn up next, and after suffering a brutal loss on defense with K’Lavon Chaisson lost for the year, LSU might be looking ahead to next week against Auburn.
One Reason Why LSU Will Win
The lines are going to destroy the SELA fronts.
They’re what got LSU past Miami – the defensive front owned the Cane ground game, and the O line paved the way for an effective enough 156 yards and two scores.
However, this is when Joe Burrow goes off.
He was okay in the win, but he only hit 11-of-24 passes. Against a Lion secondary that got ripped to shreds by ULM’s Caleb Evans, this is when the passing game will work.
What’s Going To Happen
LSU will come up with another defensive clinic.
The offense will need a few drives to get going, but it’ll all start to kick in late in the first quarter. Burrow will be efficient, the running game will crank out 250 yards, and the Tigers will have a fun and easy home opener.
