Louisville (0-1) vs. Indiana State (1-0) Game Preview

One Reason Why Indiana State Will Win

Okay, okay, so the Sycamores had to play Quincy last week, but it was a dominant 49-0 tune-up with the defense playing well and the running game getting just about everyone involved.

Louisville is getting over playing Alabama – most teams don’t get over playing Alabama, at least not right away.

The ISU running game really is decent enough to go on a few good drives and give the Cardinals a little bit to worry about. Louisville will have to try a little bit early on, at least on the defensive front. However …

One Reason Why Louisville Will Win

The Indiana State passing game is going to have a hard time.

To be fair, there wasn’t much of a reason to bomb away against Quincy, but Jalil Kirkpatrick was just okay and there weren’t many big plays. The ground game took care of everything.

Even against the mighty Alabama defense, the Louisville passing game wasn’t bad. Jawon Pass will be sharp from the start, and finally, Louisville will come up with a decent run play.

The Cardinals only gained 16 yards on the ground against the Tide. They’ll get that on their first carry.

What’s Going To Happen

The Cardinals will get to pick and choose what the final score is. Get Pass some work in with the receivers, let the running backs go off a bit, get the backups in after the second quarter. They’ll be able to do all of that in a light scrimmage.
