Louisiana Tech (2-1) vs. North Texas (4-0) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Just how great is North Texas? Is it really in the mix for the New Year’s Six bowl game?
Its only win of note game against Arkansas, but there hasn’t been even a blip so far. The Mean Green have ripped through their first four games of the season without an issue.
With UTEP and Southern Miss up next, and an easy run outside of a trip to UAB and a home date against Florida Atlantic, this is one of the few tough games left.
Louisiana Tech was respectable in the loss to LSU last week, but now it’s time to make a statement in the Conference USA race. This needs to be a firefight.
But the North Texas secondary will make its share of big plays to hold on.
The Mean Green lead the nation with ten interceptions, the passing game is averaging 345 yards per outing, and the team as a whole has been playing at a high level.
But Louisiana Tech has been sharp, too, especially on third downs offensively and with a great pass rush from the other side.
It’ll be the first real test North Texas will have faced, and it’ll pass. It’ll be a firefight, but it’ll also come up with a few defensive plays in the fourth quarter to hold on.
