Kansas State (1-1) vs. UTSA (0-2) Game Preview
One Reason Why UTSA Will Win
The Roadrunners are better than they’ve shown so far.
As it turns out, that blowout loss to Arizona State is looking a whole lot more acceptable now. Baylor might just be a whole lot better than anyone originally thought.
There’s still a good defensive system in place, and considering Kansas State’s offense has been just okay, this might be the game when it all kicks back into 2017 form.
So far, the Kansas State quarterbacks have combined to hit just 45% of their passes for 252 yards with two touchdowns with three interceptions. This isn’t going to be the week the Wildcat O opens it up and starts working, but …
One Reason Why Kansas State Will Win
UTSA’s defense hasn’t been anywhere close to being up to snuff. The Roadrunners have allowed close to 1,000 yards in two games, and the offense isn’t helping the cause with a Conference USA low 238 yards per outing.
Nothing has worked so far.
The Kansas State offense might not be an efficient machine so far, but at least the attack is holding on to the ball for long stretches, keeping it for well over 33 minutes.
The Wildcats have been disappointing so far – at least against Mississippi State – but UTSA hasn’t shown anything yet. Until it does, assume Kansas State will look okay in a rebound game at home.
What’s Going To Happen
The Kansas State passing game still isn’t going to remind anyone of Aaron Rodgers, but the running game is about to crank it up a bit against the Roadrunners.
UTSA’s offense isn’t going to be great, and it’s not going to have the ball enough or have enough chances to do much of anything to come back after the Wildcats get up early.
