We still don’t know exactly what these two teams are. UMass was phenomenal in the Week 0 win over Duquesne, and then got rolled over by Boston College. Georgia Southern’s offense was fantastic in Week 1, but it was against South Carolina State.
The UMass linebackers couldn’t handle the power of the BC ground game, but this week, the secondary won’t have to worry about a passing game after getting torched.
The Eagle option offense will control the clock and the tempo, but the Minutemen will push the ball down the field and get the offense going again. The UMass receivers will go off against an untested group of Georgia Southern defensive backs.

New Mexico State (0-2) at Utah State (0-1)

Venue: Romney Stadium, Logan, UT
If you can look impressive in a tough loss, Utah State did it, with Jordan Love and the Aggie offense pushing Michigan State to the brink in a 38-31 loss. Now the attack gets to roll against a New Mexico State team that hasn’t been close in the first two weeks.
It’s the other side of the ball, though, that will be the roughest part for the Aggies, with nothing happening offensively against Wyoming or Minnesota. It’ll be more of the same against the Utah State defense, while Love and the Aggies roll up over 200 rushing yards on the way to an easy win.
