5. QB Cole McDonald, Hawaii

Numbers, numbers, numbers. He wouldn’t be in anyone’s top three, but he might have to make all top five lists as the nation’s leader in total offense. In three games he’s averaging 430 yards per game – North Texas QB Mason Fine is the only other player over the 395-yard mark – and he’s been nearly-perfect running the refined run-and-shoot attack.

Not only are the Rainbow Warriors 3-0, but McDonald has made it happen by hitting 70% of his throws for 1,165 yards with 13 scores and no picks. He also has 125 rushing yards and two scores.
