So what if McDonald is a part of a Hawaii run-and-shoot system? It works.

Second in the nation in total yards per game, he threw for 846 yards and nine touchdowns with no picks and two rushing scores in two games.

He pulled off a big Mountain West win over Colorado State, and a fun home victory over Navy. Now, the Rainbow Warriors are 2-0 after winning just three games last season.
