Hawaii (4-1) vs. San Jose State (0-3) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
San Jose State gave Oregon a bit of a fight, and now it’s had two weeks to gear up for the start of Mountain West play. It might be 0-3, but it hasn’t been that bad.
Now the Spartans have a big, big problem with its pass defense having to deal with Hawaii. They’re dead last in college football in yards allowed.
Hawaii’s loss to Army looks a whole lot more acceptable now after the Knights’ performance at Oklahoma, but it has to show it can come up with a win on the road. The Rainbow Warriors didn’t bomb away against Duquesne, but QB Cole McDonald is about to go off, throwing for 1,759 yards and 20 touchdowns with a pick. He’ll hit the 300-yard mark without breathing hard.
The Spartans will come up with points off of two turnovers, and they’ll managed to keep this from getting brutally ugly, but they’re not going to be able to keep up in the second half. McDonald will have all day to work.
