Georgia Tech (1-3) vs. Bowling Green (1-3) Game Preview
One Reason Why Bowling Green Will Win
The Yellow Jackets aren’t getting behind the line, and the Falcon offense needs to be able to bomb away.
The Falcons aren’t going to be able to slow down the Georgia Tech offense and have to make this a shootout – QB Jarret Doege will get time.
The stats are a bit skewed after a crazy late they’re-still-trying finish, but Doege has been able to pump up the yards.
He’s hitting 65% of his passes with 11 touchdowns on the year, throwing for over 200 yards in three of the four games. The Georgia Tech secondary hasn’t been a rock so far in the three losses against FBS teams, allowing well over 600 yards total in the three games. If Doege is on early, this will be a fight.
One Reason Why Georgia Tech Will Win
The Bowling Green run defense hasn’t been remotely close to stopping anyone.
The Falcons are dead last in college football against the run, giving up 1,334 yards and 15 touchdowns in four games, and it’s not like they’ve faced anyone who can crank up the rushing yards after starting the season against Oregon.
Oddly enough, the 212 yards given up to the Ducks were the fewest Bowling Green allowed all year. The D line doesn’t get into the backfield, and it’s about to get ripped apart by a Georgia Tech offense that was stuffed by Clemson and is about to bust out.
The ground game hit the 400-yard mark in two of the first three games, and it’s about to blow past that if the parts are working from the start.
What’s Going To Happen
The parts are going to be working from the start.
Georgia Tech will flirt with 500 rushing yards, and while Doege and company will come up with their share of passing yards, they won’t be remotely close to keeping up the pace,
The Yellow Jackets will have the ball for well over 35 minutes as they finally get their first win of the season over an FBS team.
