UT Martin (0-1) at Middle Tennessee (0-1)

Venue: Floyd Stadium, Murfreesboro, TN

Middle Tennessee is about to get its passing game going after it struggled and sputtered in the loss to Vanderbilt to start things off. Brent Stockstill couldn’t get anything going downfield, and there wasn’t much of a ground game to help things out for an O that managed just seven points. The SkyHawks will run a little bit, but not enough to overcome a sharp day from Stockstill. With Georgia up next, this is when the Blue Raiders turn it loose.

Southern (0-1) at Louisiana Tech (1-0)

Time, Network: 7:00, ESPN+ | Get Tickets
Venue: Joe Aillet Stadium, Ruston, LA

The Southern offense will get moving a little bit after going nowhere in the 55-7 loss to TCU – failing to get to 200 yards of offense. However, after struggling to get going in a tough win over South Alabama, the Louisiana Tech offense is about to roll.

Southern’s passing game won’t be able to keep up once Bulldog QB J’Mar Smith and company start to click, but it’ll be Jaqwis Dancy – who ran for 144 yards and two scores against USA – and the running game that will take over right away. The Tech offense will get off the ground.

ULM (1-0) at Southern Miss (1-0)

Time, Network: 7:00, ESPN3 | Get Tickets
Venue: MM Roberts Stadium, Hattiesburg, MS

Get ready to have a whole lot of fun.

Caleb Evans and the ULM offense survived a fight with SE Louisiana in a 34-31 thriller, and now the attack will ramp it up against a Southern Miss team that wasn’t tested against Jackson State. The Golden Eagles got a terrific game from Jack Abraham, who hit 21-of-27 passes for 242 yards and four scores, but the offense has to be ready to do a whole lot more.

The USM defensive front needs to attack Evans and get to him early – and it will – but it’ll still give up over 300 yards through the air. The Golden Eagle passing game will throw for more, and it’ll have a ground game, too. Evans will be worth the price of admission, but he won’t be enough to carry the Warhawks to a win.
