Central Michigan (0-2) vs. Northern Illinois (0-2) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
These two were supposed to be major players so far in the MAC race, and they might still be. But so far, they’ve been major duds.
Central Michigan suffered the embarrassment of getting blown out at home by Kansas – to go along with a loss to Kentucky – and Northern Illinois has managed just 13 points so far in losses to Iowa and Utah.
CMU has turnover issues, giving the ball away six times in the Kansas debacle. The O line has been fine, though, but it’s about to be under siege.
The offense might not be clicking for the Huskies – second-worst in the nation with just 220 yards per game – but the pass rush has been terrific. This week, the NIU O will finally start to work.
It’s not going to be a shootout, but this is when NIU will finally start to look and play like NIU. There will finally be a running game.
