Boston College (3-1) vs. Temple (2-2) Game Preview
One Reason Why Temple Will Win
What has Temple done right over the last two weeks to rock Maryland and blow past the Golden Hurricane of Tulsa? The pass rush has gone to another level.
It wasn’t awful in the 0-2 start, but it came up with seven sacks against the Terps and six against Tulsa. The pressure has led to five picks, a whole lot of pressure taken off the offense, and the wins followed.
On the other side, the offensive line has done its part in pass protection. It’s been among the best so far among American Athletic teams in sacks allowed, but …
One Reason Why Boston College Will Win
The decent play from the line isn’t translating into offensive production, especially on the ground.
The Owls haven’t been miserable over the last two weeks, but they have yet to hit the 200-yard mark and they’re averaging just 3.7 yards per carry. The passing game is even flakier, and it’s about to have even more issues after dealing with the Boston College pass rush.
Yeah, the Owl O line has been stingy so far in pass protection, but the pressure keeps on coming. Even in the ugly loss to Purdue, the Eagles came up with five sacks.
What’s Going To Happen
The Eagles will bounce back in a big way from the bad performance against the Boilermakers last week with a ground game that will find its groove again. Temple will hang around deep into the second half, but the defense will get ground down.
It’ll be an efficient and effective day from the BC offense in a relatively high-scoring game between two teams that are supposed to rely on their defenses.
