Boston College (1-0) vs. Holy Cross (0-1) Game Preview
One Reason Why Holy Cross Will Win
The Crusaders have a decent FCS run defense.
They might have lost to Colgate 24-17 to start the season, but they stuffed the Raiders with big stop after big stop. The pass defense struggled and the passing game went nowhere, but there’s just enough on the defensive side to keep this from getting ugly for a few minutes.
Holy Cross has a few nice backs – Miles Alexander is worth worrying about – and there’s a chance to go on a few good drives, but …
One Reason Why Boston College Will Win
There was a concern about Anthony Brown’s injured knee, and then he threw for 279 yards and four scores, and AJ Dillon was AJ Dillon for a ground game that rolled for 272 yards in the 55-21 win over UMass.
For a Week 1 game against a team that had a game under its belt, it was about as sharp as the Eagles could’ve possibly had asked for.
Now, it’s about getting Brown a little more work, and then getting him, Dillon and the starters on the bench to rest up for the ACC opener against Wake Forest.
What’s Going To Happen
Give it about three drives before this is very, very over.
How much will BC care and how intense will it be? Everything will be fine for a half, the backups will come in, and Holy Cross will still struggle.
The Eagles will be dialed in for the second week in a row.
